Tales of Monkey Island: The Siege of Spinner Cay

Verdict: monotonous Arr.
In a Nutshell: The Siege of Spinner Cay is the second chapter in the Tales of Monkey Island adventure game series.
“Guybrush’s adventures continue on the high seas as pox-plagued pirates lay siege to the innocent Mer-People. In between defending the Mer-People and dodging the persistent pirate hunter hot on his trail, Guybrush manages to catch up to his beloved wife and despised arch-nemesis — but their reunion is short-lived. Now Guybrush must focus on eradicating the Pox of LeChuck before more harm can be done. And as the Mighty Pirate draws closer to a cure, the waters will only grow murkier in this thrilling chapter of the epic saga.”

Playing the game
You are Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate. To move around use the W-A-S-D keys or hold down the left mouse button while dragging the mouse. If you don’t want to waste time looking around at the scenery, hold the Shift key or the right mouse button while walking to start running.
Clicking on objects or people will allow you to interact with them by starting a conversation or picking them up (respectively, as Guybrush isn’t charming enough to pick up anything but objects). Items collected go into your inventory which is accessed by mousing over to the right hand side of the screen, the Tab or I keys, or the middle button on your mouse.
Sum it up
Not much new to add in the way of things that were right or wrong as compared to the first episode. The game does feel a little sluggish as the puzzles in this episode rely heavily on the dialogue with new characters. And while it does advance the plot in the early part of the game and the closing cutscene, you don’t really learn a lot during the game, making it feel like a filler episode. But, it IS Guybrush and the Monkey Island crew and there are some grins to be had so don’t be too quick to pass it up, especially if you prefer lots of dialogue in your adventure game.
