Crossblock
Verdict: nice idea
In a Nutshell: Crossblock is a logic / pattern recognition puzzler.

Playing the game
The object of Crossblock is to eliminate the blocks in each level by drawing a line through them. Each level has a requirement for how many blocks can be crossed out at a time and blocks can only be crossed out that are in either the same row or same column.
What the game gets right
Crossblock is easy to jump into as gameplay is straightforward and simple. The pop-up tutorial on the first 2 or 3 levels is concise, unobstructive, and will answer any questions you have about how to play.
What the game gets wrong
Within the first 5 minutes of play I had to turn off the background and music. The background got muted because of how loud it was and should have come with a photosensitive seizure warning. The music had some potential (particularly the second track) but overall needed a little more love put into it.
A casual game where I can get to level 50 in a reasonably long gaming session? The puzzles must be too easy and the lack of challenge took some of the fun out of getting all the way to the last level (the only one I was unable to figure out before I found something else to do).
Sum it up
Though I had a difficult time getting into this one, the idea behind Crossblock seems like a good one and I’d really like to see what the dev can come up with for Crossblock v 2.0.
