Playing the game

Use W-A-S-D for fighting and the arrow keys for movement as you slash your way through sword wielding baddies to save the princess.

What the game gets right

The graphics for Ninja Quest are simple but well done. The side-scroll approach to this action game brings back fond memories. The screen and character movement are nice and fluid. The art gives a certain “cute” element to the mass of bodies left bleeding in your wake.

What the game gets wrong

Are there any casual games that have a decent music track?

There’s no way to save your progress, so even though there are only 8 levels you’ll have to stick it out if you want the satisfying feeling that comes with seeing the words “You Are Victorious!”.

Sum it up

The enemies really only come in one flavor but different colors. To mix it up, I’m thinking some of the enemies should have had a thrown weapon (or maybe some archers?). Overall, I had a good time mashing buttons.
